The Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) describes the manner in which activities associated with the construction of the project, and which have the potential to cause pollution or environmental degradation, will be managed and controlled in accordance with relevant prevailing legislation and prescribed environmental management standards and practices. The EMPr together with the Contract Specifications is legally binding on the Contractor. Procedures and standards for monitoring and auditing covering the requirements for the pre-construction, construction, and rehabilitation phases are included, as well as issues of non-compliance and non-performance, and the requirement for environmental awareness training
